IT Program

What is the IT program offered at PHS?: This is our pathway to guarantee admission to UC and to set students up for successful careers in Information Technology. The complete program includes 9 semester-long classes taught at the college level.  To learn more detailed information about the program and see if this is a good fit for you, watch this short video developed by Mr. Michael Sullivan.

 

"After watching this video, I want to follow the next steps to see if I can join the program."  Great!!! Below are the steps you need to follow in order to determine eligibility.

🗹  Step 1: Complete Google Interest Form.

🗹  Step 2: Apply to UC Main Campus CCP: Online Application https://admissions.catalyst.uc.edu/apply/

• Deadline to apply: May 1, 2021 for Fall 2022.

• If you need help applying, please email Mrs. Gould or Mrs. Wiedmeyer and we will schedule a google hangout session with you.

🗹  Step 3: Show College Ready either with UC’s accuplacer or through ACT or SAT scores.

* higher score may be required to meet course pre-requisites

• If you currently have ACT or SAT qualifying scores, have your scores sent directly to the University of Cincinnati.

Once the Stay At Home order has been lifted and you have completed the Google Interest Form and Application, the counseling dept will reach out to you to schedule a testing session. The test will be 2 parts, Reading and Mathematics. Each session should take 45-90 mins.  

 

"After watching this video, I am interested in trying the Fundamentals of IT intro course, but as just a high school credit to determine if it's something I want to pursue as college credit"  Not a problem, email your grade level counselor and ask to be added into the course.
