Message #1 on COVID-19
Delivered on February 24, 2020
Princeton City Schools follows the guidance and expertise of national and local health officials to help protect our students and staff from all communicable diseases. The District is aware that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
While we continue to work closely with local and federal health authorities, as of Feb. 27, 2020, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Ohio and no additional precautions have been advised for Princeton City School District at this time.
State medical experts indicate that the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID -19 are the same recommendations for preventing the spread of the flu. Please click here to read information from the Ohio Department of Health regarding the COVID-19. Families may also visit the CDC website for more information regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Additionally, we request that parents/guardians notify their school principal if a child or member of their family has been to China or South Korea (both are on the CDC’s Warning Level 3 traveler’s list) and recently returned to our community. We encourage families to follow the CDC’s information for travel, available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html.
