Mask and Face Covering Requirement Lifted

As Princeton City School District (PCSD) prepares to Reset, Refocus, and Restart the 2021-2022 school year, the District has created a Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan which outlines our established policies and protocols.

In accordance with the Ohio Governor’s office which officially lifted the statewide face-covering order on June 2, 2021, the Princeton Board of Education is announcing the latest mask and face-covering guidance for Princeton City Schools as we invite students, staff, parents, and visitors back to school buildings and campus facilities.

Effective immediately, PCSD will no longer require face coverings at or inside any district facilities or district-owned transportation vehicle. This change is supported by recent updates to recommendations by The Ohio Department of Education. Face coverings and masks are permissible for any student, staff, family, or community member who chooses to wear one.

Princeton City Schools will continue to work with state and local health officials to seek guidance on COVID-19 and variants that may pose risks to our community, especially to those with compromised immune systems, the elderly, and individuals not yet vaccinated.

Students 12 years of age and older and Princeton employees who have not been fully vaccinated are able to do so by seeking out one of the state’s highly accessible, free vaccine clinics.

Going forward, we will continue to diligently apply the safety lessons learned during the pandemic. Our goal is always to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for staff and students - this includes taking all measures necessary to promote good health and hygiene practices with mindfulness of our impact on others.

I hope to see you and your smiles soon when I visit summer programs, athletic practices, band rehearsals, and more as we enjoy the outdoors and prepare for the upcoming school year.
