DECA students move on

Seventeen students participated in a district DECA competition on January 24. Out of them, ten students received awards and will progress to the state-level competition scheduled for March. DECA, a marketing club, prepares students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through activities like competitive events, leadership conferences, and community service. These activities aim to develop skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

In the competition, students have two options. They can engage in role-play events covering areas like apparel and accessories marketing, business services, business finance, and human resources management. In these events, students are presented with a business situation or problem and are tasked with analyzing, strategizing, and presenting solutions within a specific time frame. Alternatively, some students choose to create and deliver presentations based on provided guidelines or a case study.
