PHS NJROTC Cadets standing at attention

On Friday, November 3, 2023, the precision and skill of PHS NJROTC cadets were on full display at the Area 14/15 Air Rifle Championships held at Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio. The competition, which drew participants from across the Midwest, witnessed exemplary marksmanship from the Princeton High School cadets.

The following cadets represented PHS NJROTC at the championships: Barry Anderson, Ziyah Walton, Ronnie Newman, Pramila Rai, Addyson Sowders, Gerald Lester, Jonathan Morris, Julius Morris, Mylie Olden, and Mason Lim. Each cadet demonstrated remarkable focus and determination throughout the competition.

Standout performances were noted within the teams. Cadet Ronnie Newman emerged as the top shooter in Team #1, achieving an impressive score of 400. Meanwhile, Cadet Julius Morris showcased his exceptional skills as the leading shooter in Team #2, earning a commendable score of 367.

The competition format required each air rifle team member to fire 20 pellets from the prone, kneeling, and standing positions, putting their precision and versatility to the test. The dedication and training of the PHS NJROTC cadets were evident in their precise execution of each round.

Princeton High School's NJROTC unit faced stiff competition, challenging themselves against 64 other Navy JROTC units from the region. While the final results are still pending, the tenacity and skill displayed by the PHS NJROTC cadets undoubtedly left a lasting impression at the championships.
