Students for Equitable Education Summit:
Moving From Advocacy to Action
Free Virtual Event
Saturday, April 24, 2021
11 AM – 3 PM ET
SEE Us All is a student-led movement calling for equitable education that values, honors, and affirms the identity of every student.
What are young people experiencing in classrooms today? What do educators see in their students? Can every student realize their “most richly imagined futures” in today’s school environments? Students have the answers. Are we listening?
The SEE Summit is a national social justice summit envisioned and led by students from districts across the country. Offered virtually and open to the public, this event engages students—the very students whom the education system is underserving—as leaders, designers, and facilitators of authentic professional learning for the education community.
The SEE Summit will radically cede power to young people; call on educators to face the racist, demoralizing structures, policies, and practices that exist in education; strengthen dialogue and collaboration between students and school staff; and spur a collective commitment to advance inclusive, anti-racist classrooms.
This is an opportunity to deepen understanding of how oppression influences the school experiences of students of color, celebrate student voice and leadership, and build coalitions across differences to transform education.
Now is the time to move from advocacy to action.
