Embracing Love, Speaking Truth, and Serving Others

January 15, 2024

Dear Viking Family,

The powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. have been a source of inspiration throughout my educational career. His timeless wisdom continues to guide us toward a brighter future.

"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear." These words resonate deeply with the core values that define our Viking community. In every action we take, embrace compassion, understanding, and unity, for it is through love that we overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." As educators and advocates for our students, we have a responsibility to speak up for what is right. Silence in the face of injustice only perpetuates it. Let us be fearless in our commitment to addressing the issues that matter, fostering an environment where every voice is heard and respected.

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?" This question serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have on the lives of those around us. In the spirit of service, let us dedicate ourselves to making a positive difference in the lives of our students, colleagues, and community. Through our collective efforts, we can create a nurturing and inclusive environment that uplifts and empowers all.

As we navigate the many challenges and opportunities that come our way, let the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. inspire us to be agents of positive change. Together, we can build a legacy of love, justice, and service that transcends generations. We can continue “empowering each student for college, career, and life success.”

Thank you for your dedication to the success and well-being of our students. Enjoy this long weekend, and stay warm!

As Always…Go Vikes!
