StandardAero, a leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for business aviation, commercial aviation, military, and industrial power customers, demonstrated its commitment to community support by donating six bicycles to deserving students at Lincoln Heights Elementary School.

The dedicated team at StandardAero, known for solving some of the aviation industry's most significant challenges through ingenuity and teamwork, embarked on a unique initiative to build bicycles as part of a leadership training development team-building exercise. The process included rigorous quality control and maintenance checks to ensure the safety and reliability of each bike.

“Princeton City Schools is a district we partner with from an educational perspective, so our goal was to give back to this community,” explained Tonya Carter, vice president of human resources for StandardAero.

On January 11, 2024, representatives from StandardAero surprised one student from each grade level at Lincoln Heights Elementary School with the newly crafted bicycles. The initiative aimed to provide students with a fun and meaningful gift while promoting organizational teamwork and community engagement.

Four students who were recipients of a new bike and helmet had never experienced bike riding before, so they were both excited and apprehensive about this special gift. The selection process for these students involved teachers nominating individuals who demonstrated outstanding character and a commitment to serving others within their respective classrooms.

Princeton Instructional Coach Melanie Hogue asked the student finalists to share why they thought they deserved to get a bike during the presentation with the StandardAero employees. “I help and encourage my classmates with math and reading, especially when they are stuck on words,” explained second grader Alonnah Wales.

StandardAero, with nearly 7,000 employees working in more than 50 major facilities worldwide, emphasizes teamwork to create a supportive environment where everyone can contribute their skills and perspectives.

The Components & Accessories Sector, headquartered in Sharonville, Ohio, spearheaded this charitable endeavor, aligning with StandardAero's commitment to community involvement. Princeton City Schools, a valued community partner, played a crucial role in facilitating the donation to Lincoln Heights Elementary School.

StandardAero's engagement with the Princeton City Schools extends beyond this bike donation. They are actively involved in the Princeton Work Ethic Certification program, attend school programs, and offer co-op and internship opportunities to students.

StandardAero remains dedicated to positively impacting the communities it serves, and the recent bicycle donation exemplifies the company's commitment to giving back. The team looks forward to continued collaboration with community partners and endeavors that contribute to the local community's well-being.
