Homeland Security's iGuardian program teaching teens potential dangers of online interactions

Parents, Guardians, and Community Members -

Reminder: there is no school for students on February 15-February 19 for professional development, conference exchange, and Presidents Day.

You are invited to join our professional development session on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 1:15-2:30 PM in Matthews Auditorium to learn more about online safety.

In partnership with Homeland Security Investigations, Princeton City Schools is proud to provide an iGuardian presentation to educate adults on the dangers of the internet and how to help students be safe online. We care about our students and want to create an environment of safe learning and awareness.

We will be offering additional events with our iGuardian and Homeland Security Partners in the future. However, THIS session (on 2/15) is geared specifically toward adults. It is open to the public.

The following topics will be covered: Scale and scope of the threat, personal information your phone shares, data permanency, knowing who’s on your friend list, setting apps, games, and devices to private, social media addiction, grooming tactics of predators, sextortion - threatening to use inappropriate images or videos for money or other benefits.

If you can not wait and need more information immediately, please contact Tricia Roddy at 513.864.1093 or go to the website: https://www.ice.gov/topics/iGuardians
