What Does a School Counselor do for Students?

Student may see the counselor for small group and individual counseling to assist with a variety of concerns and problems including:

  • Friendship

  • Problem Solving

  • Academic Imporvement

  • College/Career Planning

  • Family Concerns

  • Grief and Loss

  • Crisis Intervvention

What Does a School Counselor do for Parents?

Parents are free to call the Guidance Office any time for a meeting if you have academic, social or personal concerns about your child. The Guidance Office will help to arrange a parent-teacher conference or provide referral information to outside resources.

How Does a Student See a Counselor?

Students can see the counselor in any of the following ways:

  • Self referral- email your counselor or ask a teacher to email for you

  • Parent referral

  • Administrative referral

  • Teacher or staff referral

  • Referred by a friend(s)
