students in the garden at Stewart Elementary

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Mr. Clear and his wonderful team of volunteers, the Stewart Elementary School garden continues to thrive and flourish throughout the growing season!

Hard work and commitment to maintaining this valuable outdoor learning space have created incredible opportunities for our students to connect with nature and experience hands-on learning.

We're excited to share that Mrs. Moreland's Kindergarten students recently had the joy of harvesting potatoes from the garden, giving them a firsthand look at where their food comes from and the satisfaction of reaping what they've helped to sow.

Mrs. Reitz’s students planted beets, carrots, and onions. They also harvested tomatoes and peppers to take home to eat.

Ms. Young's class completed a science lesson observing and making inferences based on the items picked from the garden.

These meaningful experiences in the garden not only teach our young learners about agriculture and responsibility but also create lasting memories and foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world around them.
