As winter weather approaches, we want to share insights into how difficult it can be to determine whether Princeton City School District will delay or close schools.
Please be aware that deciding on a delay or closure is a lengthy, thoughtful process that begins well before the final decision is made. Our superintendent, director of operations, and other Princeton personnel spend hours monitoring the weather, consulting with our transportation partners and local professionals, reviewing the forecast, and conducting road inspections across all six of our communities. We drive the roads early in the mornings, checking them as needed, and make sure parking lots and lanes by the school entrances are cleared and salted.
Each storm is different, and there is no exact science to predicting how the weather will develop or how it will impact our buses, roads, and school operations. We always make the safest and most informed decision for our students, families, and staff.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate unpredictable winter conditions!
