We are proud to celebrate two remarkable leaders who have been recognized at the state level for their outstanding work in the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.
Mrs. Wendy McCrory, 5th grade teacher at Sharonville Elementary School, has been named the D.A.R.E. Educator of the Year for Ohio. Mrs. McCrory has positively influenced countless students over the years, and as she approaches retirement, this recognition is a fitting tribute to her lasting legacy. At today's 5th grade D.A.R.E. Graduation, Mayor Kevin Hardman issued an official City of Sharonville Proclamation in her honor, stating, “Wendy McCrory will be forever missed!” Happy Wendy McCrory Day!
Officer Aaron Hayes, School Resource Officer at Sharonville and Stewart Elementary, has been selected as Ohio’s 2025 Larry R. Cox D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year. Officer Hayes is a vital presence in our schools—teaching, mentoring, and building relationships with students while delivering the D.A.R.E. curriculum with compassion and impact.
A special thank you to Sharonville Police Chief Nesbit for his support and for helping recognize the achievements of both our students and staff during the graduation celebration.
Both Mrs. McCrory and Officer Hayes will be honored at the Ohio D.A.R.E. Conference on July 7 in Sandusky. We are proud to have such dedicated champions of student safety, education, and well-being in our Viking family.
Congratulations Mrs. Wendy McCrory and Officer Aaron Hayes!
