PCMS Safety Message: October 9, 2025

October 9, 2025

Good evening. This is Dr. Tyler Arnold, School Principal of Princeton Community Middle School. When something occurs on our PCMS school campus, I want to keep you informed and provide you with accurate information.

This morning, Thursday, October 9, 2025, one of our students brought an air gun in their backpack to school. The weapon was not loaded, and no one was hurt, but we take this very seriously. The student was arrested and charged with having a weapon on school property, and was also disciplined according to the Code of Student Conduct.

Please talk to your child about this situation and remind them that ANY type of weapon is not allowed on school property. Please check their bookbags before they go to school to ensure they do not have any prohibited items.

On the topic of safety and wellness, please note that today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued an executive order banning the sale of intoxicating hemp products. Some of these items have been found packaged to resemble popular candy, which could pose a risk to children.

As we approach the Halloween season, we encourage families to remain alert and check candy or snack packaging carefully. Please remind your children not to consume gummy candy or similar items without your permission.

Our priority is the safety and well-being of all students and families. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping keep our community informed and safe. We value your involvement in your child’s education and your partnership with Princeton Community Middle School.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 513-864-2000 or tarnold@vikingmail.org.
