Eye Exams Coming back to PCMS!
The Health Care Connection will be visiting Princeton Community Middle School on April 7th and 8th to conduct eye exams. This is a valuable opportunity to ensure your child's vision is healthy and does not impact their learning abilities. If your student received a vision referral from the nurse, a consent form has been sent home. Please sign and return this form to the nurse. Incoming 7th-grade immunization reminders:
Prior to the start of 7th grade, all students are required to receive one dose of the Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) and one dose of the meningococcal vaccine (MCV4). Letters were emailed home to students who may still need these vaccinations. If you are unsure if your student needs these vaccines, please call or email the nurse.
Illness reminders:
We are seeing many students with various symptoms in the nurse’s office. Allergies seem to be ramping back up with the change in weather, so please monitor your student’s symptoms and medicate prior to school if needed. We do not have medication to give to students unless we have a signed order from a physician, and parents bring in medication.
Also, for illness, please keep your student home until:
The student is fever-free (a temperature registering below 100.0 degrees F) for 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medication (i.e., Tylenol, Ibuprofen);
The student is 24 hours from experiencing the last bathroom incident (i.e., vomiting, diarrhea);
The student has received 24 hours of antibiotic therapy for such contagious conditions as strep throat or bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye);
The student feels well enough to attend a full day of school after being ill.

¡Regresan los exámenes de la vista a PCMS!
El programa "Health Care Connection" visitará la Escuela Intermedia Comunitaria Princeton del 7 al 8 de abril para realizar exámenes de la vista. Esta es una valiosa oportunidad para garantizar que la visión de su hijo/a sea saludable y no afecte su aprendizaje. Si la enfermera refirió a su hijo/a por problemas de la vista, a usted se le envió a casa un formulario de consentimiento. Por favor, firme y devuelva este formulario a la enfermera. Recordatorios de vacunación para los alumnos de 7.º grado:

Las alergias parecen estar aumentando con el cambio de clima, así que por favor, vigilen los síntomas de su estudiante y administren medicamentos antes de clases si es necesario. No tenemos medicamentos para administrar a los estudiantes a menos que tengamos una orden médica firmada y los padres los traigan.
Además, en caso de enfermedad, por favor, mantengan a su estudiante en casa hasta que:
El estudiante esté libre de fiebre (temperatura inferior a 38 °C) durante 24 horas, sin usar medicamentos para reducir la fiebre (por ejemplo, Tylenol, ibuprofeno);
El estudiante haya tenido 24 horas desde su último incidente en el baño (por ejemplo, vómitos, diarrea);
El estudiante haya recibido 24 horas de terapia con antibióticos para infecciones contagiosas como faringitis estreptocócica o conjuntivitis bacteriana (conjuntivitis);
El estudiante se sienta lo suficientemente bien como para asistir a clases todo el día después de estar enfermo.
