6th Grade STEAM Camp at Princeton Community Middle School
This summer, sixth graders got a head start on middle school life in the best way possible, with games, laughter, and plenty of team-building adventures at the 6th Grade STEAM Camp hosted at Princeton Community Middle School (PCMS).
Students spent the week participating in a variety of sports camp activities and team-building exercises designed to help them connect with peers, build confidence, and get comfortable in their new school environment at PCMS.
Bouncing Into the Week
Campers kicked things off with some outdoor fun on a colorful inflatable obstacle course, where students and staff alike crawled through tunnels and leaped their way to the finish line. The energy was high, the smiles were wide, and it was clear from day one that this was going to be a great week.
Lifting Each Other Up
Inside the gym, campers came together for a classic parachute activity. This simple game has a powerful message. With everyone holding on and working in sync, the group kept the rainbow-colored parachute soaring overhead, a perfect reminder that when we work together, great things can happen.
Holding On and Moving Forward
One of the week's most memorable moments came during a chain-running game, in which students linked arms and raced across the gymnasium floor. Cue the laughing, stumbling, and cheering each other on every step of the way. New friendships were formed in real time, one shared laugh at a time.
Testing Their Reflexes
Campers also put their focus and quick thinking to the test in a high-energy reaction game that had the whole group on the edge of their seats. With hands on their heads and eyes locked on the cones, students went head-to-head in a fast-paced challenge that had the crowd roaring with excitement.
A Week Worth Remembering
By the end of the week, students had done far more than play games; they had created bonds, met PCMS teachers and staff, and taken their first confident steps into middle school life. It was a week filled with energy, connection, and community, and we couldn't be prouder of every camper who participated.
