Eighth grade students at Princeton Community Middle School were treated to an educational, but fun (and tasty!) demonstration of gas density in Matthews Auditorium on Thursday, Sept. 4.
The demonstration, led by 8th Grade science teachers Mr. Watson, Mr. Chilcote, Mr. Cobb, and Ms. Brownlie, explored gas density through different experiments, such as putting a bouncy ball in nitrogen gas, turning it into a non-bouncy ball; how marshmallows dipped in liquid nitrogen can cause someone to have "dragon's breath"; and how helium in a balloon can simulate an earthquake explosion, simulating seismic waves.
The students engaged with teachers in answering questions, furthering their knowledge of gas density.
