#EV bus drivers and helpers

Honoring Our Bus Drivers and Bus Helpers on Education Support Professional Day

On Education Support Professional (ESP) Day, we celebrate the dedicated individuals whose work supports our students in countless ways. At Evendale Elementary, this recognition holds special meaning. As the building that houses most of our district’s special needs classrooms, Evendale relies deeply on the compassion, skill, and dedication of our bus drivers and bus helpers—professionals who make sure every child arrives safely, calmly, and ready to learn.

For many students, especially those with unique needs, the school day begins and ends on the bus. Our drivers and helpers are often the first caring adults they see each morning and the last ones to send them home at the end of the day. Their patience, empathy, and consistency help create a smooth transition from home to school and back again.

Bus drivers navigate busy roads, varied weather conditions, and diverse student needs with remarkable expertise. Their commitment to safety is unwavering, and their steady presence helps students feel secure and understood.

Bus helpers play an equally vital role. They support students who may need physical assistance, emotional reassurance, or help with routines. They foster a sense of comfort and structure that makes transportation manageable—even for students who may find transitions challenging.

Together, these professionals provide far more than transportation. They build trusting relationships, offer encouragement, and create an environment where all students—especially those with special needs—feel cared for and supported.

On this Education Support Professional Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to the bus drivers and bus helpers who serve Evendale Elementary. The work you do is essential to the success, safety, and well-being of our students.

To our transportation team: thank you for your patience, your professionalism, and your heart. Evendale Elementary is better because of you.
