Veteran jumps for joy as he receives his high school diploma from Princeton High School.

The Princeton City School District is proud to continue a cherished community tradition of recognizing the service and sacrifice of local veterans. For the past 21 years, the Princeton City Schools Music Department has presented the Veterans Day Concert, a moving tribute to all members of the United States Armed Forces.

This year’s concert will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM in Matthews Auditorium. As part of this annual celebration, the district will once again honor veterans who left high school early to serve in the military by awarding them an honorary Princeton High School diploma.

Community members are invited to help identify deserving veterans who may qualify for this recognition. Whether it’s a grandparent, parent, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, or neighbor, Princeton City Schools welcomes nominations of veterans who did not complete high school due to their service.

Veterans do not need to reside within the Princeton City School District, and diplomas may be awarded posthumously to their surviving family members. The district especially encourages families to reach out to veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War eras who may be eligible.

“The honorary diploma is a small token of gratitude that means so much to the veterans and their families,” said G. Elgin Card, superintendent. “It represents our community’s deep appreciation for the courage, service, and sacrifices of those who served our nation.”

Princeton City Schools looks forward to welcoming veterans, their families, and community members to this year’s Veterans Day Concert as we celebrate and honor all who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.
