The Lockland Police Department notified us of an active shooter in the area. Lincoln Heights Elementary School was placed on a teaching lockdown at 2:40 PM today, Friday, May 8, as a precautionary measure. This means all doors to the buildings were locked and no one was permitted to enter or leave during the lockdown. Normal activities continued in the building. All students and staff remained safely in the building.
The police were investigating a shooting in one of the neighborhoods near the school. Working with local law enforcement, the elementary school remained on external teaching lockdown until 3:35 PM, when the situation was cleared, and the lockdown was lifted.
Some Princeton Community Middle School buses (3, 15, 43, 62, and 83) were held in place at PCMS to avoid the area during the activity. Family members were notified via the FirstView app. The buses are en route to make sure students are safely transported home. These elementary buses may also be delayed.
We appreciate your partnership. Safety is our top priority at Princeton City School District.
Thank you.
