Woodlawn Elementary School was proud to be represented at a recent iSPACE donor ceremony in Cincinnati, where teacher Donna Powell and a third-grade student were invited to speak about the school’s experience with iSPACE and the opportunities it creates for students.

Powell and her student addressed donors gathered at iSPACE’s Reading Road facility, sharing firsthand how the organization’s hands-on STEM programs have sparked curiosity, confidence, and a love of science and technology among Woodlawn learners. Their remarks highlighted field trip experiences, immersive activities, and the way iSPACE programming brings classroom learning to life through problem-solving, teamwork, and real-world STEM exploration.

iSPACE, a Greater Cincinnati nonprofit with more than two decades of work in STEM education, provides field trips, camps, robotics experiences, and educator professional development designed to ignite a passion for science and technology and prepare students for tomorrow’s workforce. Woodlawn students have participated in iSPACE programming as part of the school’s commitment to engaging, standards-aligned learning beyond the classroom.

Speaking to supporters who help make those programs possible, Powell and the third-grader described what those visits mean for Woodlawn students—especially the chance to become scientists, engineers, and explorers for a day. Their invitation to address donors reflects both the strength of the school’s partnership with iSPACE and the impact of donor-supported access for schools and students across the region.
Woodlawn Elementary congratulates Mrs. Powell and her student on representing the school with pride and thanks iSPACE and its donors for investing in hands-on STEM learning for Cincinnati-area children.
