Dear Princeton Families,

As our District continues to navigate the challenges presented by the ongoing transportation stoppage, we remain committed to making decisions that prioritize the well-being of our students, staff, and families while maintaining as much consistency and stability in our operations as possible.

After careful consideration, Princeton City Schools has made the decision to cancel the Late Start Day for October 14, 2026. All schools will operate on their regular schedules, with normal start and dismissal times.

We recognize that the ongoing stoppage has already created significant disruptions to the daily routines of many of our families. However, we believe that maintaining a consistent schedule during this period is in the best interest of our school community. This decision aims to minimize further confusion, reduce the added logistical challenges for families, and provide students and staff with a greater sense of normalcy.

As per the Princeton City Schools Strategic Plan, Health and Safety remains among our highest priorities. We understand the frustration, inconvenience, and uncertainty this transportation stoppage has caused, particularly for families who rely on bus transportation to ensure their children can attend school each day.

Please know that we recognize the impact this situation is having on the Princeton community. We continue to work around the clock to identify solutions that support our students and families, including securing alternative transportation.

I also want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding that you have demonstrated during this unprecedented disruption. I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to our teachers, staff, and school leaders for their continued efforts to support students and maintain a positive learning environment despite these challenges.

Together, as one Princeton community, we will continue to navigate these challenges with the best interests of our students at the center of every decision, ensuring Every Student, Every Opportunity.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mari Phillips
