As a first grade teacher, you guide our students through that magical transition from early learning to more independent exploration—igniting their passion for reading, writing, and discovery while nurturing their social-emotional growth and curiosity. Your creativity and unwavering support create a classroom where every child feels seen and capable, and it truly shapes their confidence for years to come. Thank you for being such an invaluable part of what makes Woodlawn special! We're thrilled to announce that you have been selected to be showcased in our Staff Shout-Out feature this week! This is my 17th year working in education. I have taught at Woodlawn Elementary for the last twelve years. Currently, I am a first-grade teacher, but I have also taught second grade and third grade at Woodlawn. The most rewarding part of my job is watching students become leaders and gain confidence in making new friendships. Additionally, watching a child learn to master a new skill is one of the greatest joys in education. In my spare time, I love to spend time at home with my husband, two daughters, and son. We enjoy visiting the Cincinnati Zoo, Kings Island, and the Museum Center. As a family, we also love to root on the Cincinnati Bearcats, FC Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Bengals when we are not busy participating in sports of our own. -Skye Osie

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and our furbabies (2 huskies and 1 cat). I’m also a big sports fan and enjoy cheering on the Bengals, Reds, FC Cincinnati, and The Ohio State Buckeyes." - Kayla

My favorite thing to do outside of school is take long walks with my dog and explore the trails around our house. The most fulfilling part of my job is when I see students understand a skill/concept that we have been working on in class.
