Heritage Hill Elementary -

Mrs. Bach's 5th grade class at Heritage Hill is putting their new skills of Tableau from Wit & Wisdom on display for principal, Mrs. Lastra. Using their bodies and props, students create a living picture of a concept or scene from the literary work they are currently studying. Mrs. Lastra served as a guest judge to decide which group created the most realistic scene depicting a characters feelings from their recent reading. This is a great way to incorporate critical thinking skills and collaboration along with creation, description and planning to bring a text to life. Today, Springdale Police Officer Riordan spent time with Heritage Hill 5th grade students explaining his role as our Community Resource Officer and making connections with students! Argh 🏴‍☠️ you ready for the long weekend? The Heritage Hill staff has worked hard this first month of school and decided to have a little fun the day before the long holiday! Our first underground spirit day- tie dye- which some students seemed to have gotten word about 😉, a red cart treat from the EL team & a visit from Superintendent Card complete with Dunkin' Donuts 🍩 for winning the FIRED UP contest at convocation! Students in Mrs. Midkiff's 4th grade class at Heritage Hill are putting new reading, speaking and listening skills to work through Socratic seminars as part of the new reading curriculum, Wit & Wisdom.
