Community Update: The Hamilton County SWAT team is using the Springdale Elementary School parking lot area and space near the Springdale Recreation Center for Physical Fitness training today, Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

The mobile book bus stopped by summer school today! Students enjoyed outdoor reading time! Also some highlights of class time games, activities and crafts! #AAGV

Science experiments in action at summer school! These students have been learning about the life cycles of butterflies, focusing on important vocabulary and writing skills. We tied it altogether with a super fun science experiment- making crystal butterflies! We got to see our results today and we think they turned out amazing! This is a very fun and inexpensive way to experience science with your kiddos at home this summer! Take pipe cleaners and make them into the shape of butterfly wings, tie them to a pencil with string, boil water and mix two cups boiled water with 1/2 cup Borax. Place in a glass container, place wings into mixture and let sit for 2-3 days, crystal butterflies will be the end result. Cut away excess crystals, add antenna and eyes if desired! Super fun! 🤩 #AAGV

Crystal Clear Science: Wonderful Water 💧 assembly at summer school- learning important science vocabulary through experiments! 💦 Learning about the ocean and fish with sight words, using The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister as a guide. And putting out butterfly feeders in the garden to see if we can attract butterflies! 🦋 #AAGV

Summer school is FUN! Digging for dinosaurs, writing with beads, learning outside, making ice cream, creating butterfly feeders, visiting the mobile book bus and STEM activities galore! We love learning & expanding our knowledge with hands-on learning experiences and small class sizes! #AAGV

Congratulations to the 123rd Air Force Squadron Ohio National Guard for winning the best civil service award from Adopt-A-Class! For the past two years, they have partnered with Ms. Patterson's 5th grade class at Heritage Hill. Adopt-A-Class said this about the partnership between Ohio National Guard and Heritage Hill Elementary- "though their vibrant and engaging activities, these mentors have brilliantly introduced students to the distinct path of National Guard service, illuminating a crucial pathway to military involvement that many had never considered. Full of infectious energy and enthusiasm, the Ohio Air National Guard team serves as a monthly source of exploration and inspiration for their students." Mrs. Buchanan's class at Heritage Hill held a special awards assembly yesterday to recognize each students growth, progress and contributions to the classroom environment!
