Kindergarten: E’lani & Ahmir
E'lani has shown remarkable leadership skills all year and is a wonderful role model for her peers. Her ability to consistently make great choices and complete her work demonstrates her dedication and hard work, allowing her to reach her goals successfully. I am so proud of you E'lani!
Ahmir has completely turned around his behavior for the positive. He has continuously found things to keep him busy and out of trouble. He has voluntarily gotten on iReady, read a library book and completed academic activities. Congrats Ahmir!
1st Grade: Chai & Samuel
Chai consistently demonstrates all seven leadership habits by arriving each day with a positive, can-do attitude. He puts forth his best effort, shows determination, and leads with confidence as he follows his own path toward achieving his goals.
I am proud to nominate Samuel as our Viking VIP! Samuel embodies all the habits and never hesitates to put what his peers’ needs first before his own! I love how Samuel works so hard and displays kindness throughout the day! Keep up the good work, Sam!
2nd Grade: Aaliyah & Alana
Aaliyah embodies all 7 habits in Leader in Me. She is always proactive in completing her work and being prepared for class. She constantly synergizes and makes sure her group or partners feel heard and included. She is a great listener and works well with everyone. I am beyond proud of Aaliyah and cannot wait to see her continue to shine in third grade next year. You are a joy to 2nd grade!
Alana is my leader of the year, for consistently demonstrating outstanding leadership, kindness, honesty, respect, and an incredible work ethic. Alana comes to school each day ready to learn, ready to help, and ready to shine. Her positive attitude and dedication inspire everyone around her. Alana Carr is my Leader of the YEAR! Alana is truly amazing. She comes to school every day with a bright smile, a ready mind, and a heart full of kindness. Her leadership shines through in all she does—whether she’s helping a friend, showing respect to adults, working hard on assignments, or making someone’s day better just by being herself. Alana, you are a role model, a light in our classroom, and a true leader. We are so proud of you! Congratulations!
3rd Grade: Milanni & Aloni
Milanni is an all around leader! She is proactive, she puts first things first and she begins with the end in mind! Milanni is kind to everyone. She also knows what her goals are and doesn't stop until she meets those goals. I am so proud of her!
Aloni is a model student! She sets the tone for leadership in all areas and has grown in many ways. Her confidence this year has soared and has allowed her to share her greatness EVERYDAY!! She treats all peers and adults with respect. I am so happy Aloni is in our class! Keep thriving!
4th Grade: Rha’Niya & Aniya
Our 4th grade leader, Rha'Niya, uses Habit 2-begin with the end in mind and Habit 3-put first things first. She shows consistently that she’s a great role model for her classmates by completing her work on time, as well as using Habit 6-synergize to be a positive light when working with others and believes everyone has something good to give to the group. You are an amazing leader!
Aniya exemplifies what it means to be responsible. She carries herself with a quiet demeanor, only stepping in when she feels she can positively add to a situation. The ability to listen before speaking is something people can go their entire life without mastering, but Aniya has expertly woven this skill into her everyday life. Aniya perseveres through her challenges without anyone knowing. She truly encapsulates what it means to be a responsible student and it has not gone unnoticed at Lincoln Heights.
5th Grade: Yasmeena & Tyrese
Yasmeena is a well rounded student. She takes pride in her work by following instructions then doing the best work she can. She is prepared for class, eager to learn, & gets busy when she comes into the classroom each morning.
Tyrese has been an amazing showcase of all the Leader-In-Me Habits. He has come such a long way with being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, putting first things first, thinking win-win, seeking to understand, synergizing, and sharpening his saw!! I know that was a mouthful, however we want to point out that he is such a phenomenal human being!
Art, Music & Gym: Aloni, Elizah & Yasmeena
Aloni is an amazing student who is always exhibiting Habit One—Be Proactive—every time she walks into the art room. She takes responsibility for her materials, follows directions without being reminded, and helps clean up even when the mess isn’t hers. Aloni sets a great example for her classmates by choosing a positive attitude and always being ready to learn!
Elizah has shown great growth in music class this year. He was reluctant to participate in the beginning of the year. Now, he makes sure to listen attentively, ask for help, work with others, and demonstrate understanding by doing his best in all activities.
Yasmeena constantly exhibits the Leader in Me Habits in the gym. She gets along with others, listens before she talks, is proactive, and so much more! Great job Yasmeena!
