December 17, 2025
Dear Springdale Families,
The Springdale Police Department placed Springdale Elementary School into an external teaching lockdown at 1:26 p.m. today, December 17, as a precautionary measure. This meant that all doors to the buildings were locked, and no one was permitted to enter or leave during the lockdown. Normal activities continued in the building. All students and staff remained safely in the building.
The police were investigating a shooting in one of the neighborhoods near the school. Working with local law enforcement, the elementary school remained on external teaching lockdown until 1:56 p.m., when the situation was cleared, and the lockdown was lifted. Extra security will remain on-site for the remainder of the school day.
We appreciate your partnership. Safety is our top priority at Princeton City School District.
Thank you,
Mrs. Lisa Tenbarge
Principal
