Princeton City School District’s Superintendent G. Elgin Card and Treasurer Chris Poetter, along with superintendents and treasurers across Hamilton County, are sharing a joint letter with all residents regarding proposed property tax reforms and their critical impact on local funding. The letter explains: • How reductions in state education funding have shifted more responsibility onto local property taxes, which now provide 53.1 percent of Ohio’s school funding • The devastating impact that eliminating property taxes would have on schools and essential public services, including police, fire, and EMS • A call for meaningful, sustainable reform along with increased support for seniors and low-income residents We invite you to read the full letter to stay informed on this important issue.
