Dawn Bailey was deservedly presented with the Rev. Bennett Walker Smith Award. Principal Bailey was recognized at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Service at Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
Rev. Bennett Walker Smith was a Christian minister, educator, civil rights leader, advisor to Dr. King, and senior pastor of LHMBC (1965-1972). The recognition named in his honor is awarded to local community leaders who demonstrate exemplary service that positively transforms individuals and communities.
