On May 4, students and staff at Glendale Elementary took part in a safety drill to address cardiac emergencies. Students were responsible for telling teachers about an emergency while staff conducted AED and CPR on a practice dummy. Staff spent the entire school year preparing for this drill through multiple trainings and courses.
After the drill, a celebration was held in the Glendale Elementary gymnasium to officially designate Glendale as a "Heart Safe School."
Community partners in this designation include the Cincinnati Children's Heart Institute and Project ADAM. Assisting in the drill were also the Sharonville Fire Department, Glendale Police Department, and Glendale Fire Department.
