E. Kemper Road Improvements – Construction Begins the Week of August 17

The City of Springdale is moving forward with Phase 1 of the E. Kemper Road Improvements Project, a major investment focused on improving safety, connectivity, and transportation options along E. Kemper Road.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, August 17, with improvements taking place between Commons Drive/Century Boulevard and Chesterdale Road.

🚦 Current Traffic Impact

Eastbound traffic will be affected by a single-lane closure from Century Boulevard to Chesterdale Road. This lane closure will remain in place for the duration of the eastbound curb and sidewalk work.

All business and residential access will be maintained for the duration of the project. Minor delays should be expected.

Please slow down, use caution, and allow additional travel time when traveling through the work zone.

Project Improvements

▪️ A new 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the north side of E. Kemper Road
▪️ New 4- to 6-foot ADA-compliant sidewalks on the south side to close existing sidewalk gaps
▪️ Upgraded pedestrian crossings and new ADA ramps
▪️ Replacement of the traffic signal at Century Boulevard
▪️ Roadway resurfacing, curb and gutter improvements, and stormwater enhancements
▪️ Improved bus stops with shelters, benches, and sidewalk courtesy pads

📅 Project Timeline

Construction is expected to begin August 17, 2026, with completion anticipated by Spring 2027.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve E. Kemper Road and create a safer, more connected corridor for drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders.
