Dear Princeton Families, Students, and Community,
Earlier today, September 1, 2026, fire alarms were activated at Princeton High School, Viking Village, and Princeton Community Middle School. Students and staff immediately followed our established safety procedures and evacuated the buildings quickly and efficiently.
I was visiting classrooms at the middle school when the fire alarm went off. The students and staff followed procedures calmly and evacuated the building exactly as they have been taught during safety drills. I am proud of how our students and staff reacted and behaved during the situation.
The alarms were triggered by a malfunction in an elevator near the Student Health Center. The Sharonville Fire Department, whose crews were nearby conducting training exercises, responded immediately and assessed the situation.
During the response, one member of the fire response team experienced mild heat exhaustion and received appropriate care.
When the buildings were safe, students and staff returned inside. The school day continued as planned.
I appreciate our students and staff for responding calmly and following our safety procedures, and thank the Sharonville Fire Department for their immediate response and continued partnership in keeping our schools safe. Princeton is fortunate to have dedicated emergency crew response teams that can assist so swiftly.
