First Student, Inc. school bus 21 is not running its Princeton High School route today, Friday September 25, 2026. Students on buses 47, 73, and 82 are being picked up by alternative bus drivers. We're working to minimize delays and find substitute drivers for the middle school and elementary routes. We appreciate your patience as we get students to school safely and will keep you updated if those routes are impacted. First Student has several bus routes without drivers available this afternoon. The affected routes are:

Princeton High School: Buses 8, 13, and 27
Princeton Community Middle School: Buses 13 and 25
Elementary Schools: Buses 13, 27, and 57

We are working to secure alternative buses and drivers to transport students home. Students on these routes may experience delays this afternoon.

Parents or approved caregivers who prefer to pick up their student may call the school and request that their student be placed in the parent pick-up line.

UPDATE: The Evendale Police Department has notified us that road closures related to the Cooper Road water main break are expected to continue through the end of this week.

Evendale Elementary remains open and is operating on its normal schedule.

First Student Transportation will work around the road closures, but families should be prepared for possible bus delays in the Evendale area.

Evendale Elementary has water pressure and is NOT currently under a boil advisory. Students are encouraged to bring a full, clear water bottle to school each day this week.

We will continue to monitor the situation and share additional information if changes affect school operations, transportation, or water service.

Princeton and Evendale Elementary Families,

Due to a water main break on Cooper Road in Evendale, road closures are in effect on Cooper, Winnebago, and Reading Roads, which may affect morning transportation on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

First Student Transportation is aware of the closures and will adjust bus routes as needed. Families should be prepared for possible delays for buses traveling through the affected area. Evendale Elementary School will operate on its normal schedule on Tuesday.

Evendale Elementary currently has water pressure and is not under a boil water advisory. A boil water advisory is in effect for an area south of the school area. As an additional precaution, we encourage students to bring a full, clear water bottle to school on Tuesday, September 8.

The District expects to receive another update regarding the water main break on Tuesday afternoon. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any changes that affect school operations or transportation.

Meet the new Lincoln Heights Elementary School Principal, Dr. Derrick Shelton!

We are excited to welcome Dr. Shelton as the new principal of Lincoln Heights Elementary School! Dr. Shelton brings more than 20 years of experience in education, having served as an elementary special education teacher, Intervention Specialist, and school administrator. Throughout his career, he has led schools in several states and supported successful school turnaround efforts focused on student achievement and school improvement.

His leadership has earned recognition, including the Administrator of the Year award from the Ohio Association of Black School Educators and the Leader Among Leaders award from Leadership Ohio. Under his leadership, two schools earned the equivalent of a four-star rating, and another was recognized as a Progress School of Honor by the Ohio Department of Education.

While Dr. Shelton is proud of his professional accomplishments, he considers his family his greatest accomplishment. He is the proud father of two accomplished daughters, father-in-law to an amazing son-in-law, and grandfather to six exceptional grandchildren.

Dr. Shelton is excited to join Princeton City Schools, especially the phenomenal students, staff, families, and community at Lincoln Heights Elementary School.

For Dr. Shelton, joining LHES and returning to the Lincoln Heights community feels like coming home.
